Autism Safety from My Precious KidWhen I recently purchased the Kid Escape! safety video for my tween girls from My Precious Kid, I saw many autism safety products that would interest my readers. I asked Kay Green, Christian Business Leader and owner of My Precious Kid to inform our readers about safety products. Please read the following on Autism Safety, provided by My Precious Kid.

As a parent of a child with autism you know the specialized needs that every child with autism has. The  needs vary from child to child as there are multiple types of autism.  As every child is unique, every child with autism is unique as well and has unique needs.

As a parent you naturally want to protect your child, and therefore you should be taking the proper precautions and steps to ensure that your child is protected at all times from harm.  Special precautions should be taken with autistic children.

A good precaution to take is to make sure that your autistic child has identification on them at all times, including possibly notification to the person that finds them that they are autistic and that they may not speak or response to others audibly.

You can buy stickers or shoe tags that will help to keep this information close at hand and on your child at all times. You can also buy stickers for your vehicle that will alert others that there is a child who is inaudible in the vehicle in case of an emergency.

As some autistic children tend to wander away and don’t know how to find their way back you may also want to own a child locater system which will help keep you from having to deal with extremely dangerous and scary situations that could arise. As the old saying goes, “You’d rather be safe, than sorry.”

At home you will want to protect the areas that may be dangerous for your child installing gates to keep them in the areas of your yard or home that will be safe for them. Also a door alarm on the front door can alert you if they should open the door.

Doing all you can to help protect your autistic child and their safety is important and should be a top priority for you. You will also want to educate those around you who will deal with or care for your child of their special needs and how they can properly care for and protect them as well.
