With God All Things Are Possible

The powerful words that I carry in my heart, “With God, all things are possible,” come from Matthew 19:26 NIV.

These words started touching my heart as I thought about the Story of Esther and what she accomplished.  A young, shy girl who was empowered by God to save her people. Esther risked her own life based on her faith in God. With God, she was able to do what was considered impossible for a young woman living in Persia.

This special verse of life is inspiring for many reasons:

  • Graduation: For men and women graduating from high school or college, walking down the journey of life with a fresh degree in hand, this verse is a reminder that they can achieve their dreams. They invested so much time, money and effort into their education, and with God beside them, all things are possible.
  • Teacher Appreciation: Each day a teacher is challenged by a special child. She encounters kids who share stories about family hardship, parental divorce, death, confusion and struggle. She desires for her students to stay focused, do their very best and develop long lasting learning skills. Some kids struggle more than others, and a teacher knows that with God, all things are possible for that child.
  • Awareness and Illness: Sitting in a hospital bed waiting for months and months of chemotherapy treatments to provide healing, I think of this verse and a young woman named Shannon who is waiting for her bone cancer to be cured. The verse reminds me of the light and faith inside Shannon’s heart, and a reminder that her strength comes from God. Shannon and her family know that with God, all things are possible.
  • Autism: While frustrated parents fight for their autism children, demanding that physicians and scientists and the educational system provide support for children with autism, the words remind me that with God, all things are possible. Parents find strength and encouragement and are reminded not to give in to the pressures of the medical community, but to continue to seek answers and solutions to the illness affecting so many children. These parents KNOW intuitively that something in the environment is creating a generation of autistic adults, and they fight day and night for the answer. One single parent fighting billion-dollar industries and special interest groups, pleading for the future. Find out what the problem is and Cure Autism Now.
  • Financial Loss: Another reminder of this special verse is for families experiencing financial loss from the unstable economy. A layoff of 860 people at one company means that families are frightened by their financial security. They scramble to secure their existing finances, work to preserve their mortgages and equity and credit, and battle the enemy. Yet, with God on their side, all things are possible. With faith, fear dissipates and we wait patiently for the Lord to provide.

No matter the reason of the current season, with God, all things are possible. Carry these words inside your heart as you face a new career opportunity. Remember them when battling illness, autism, financial loss, marital strains, difficult children and families, and depression. Know that God is the solution to all these things and everything is possible, only with God. With God, some children with cancer are in remission. With God, marriages are restored and healthy. With God, people overcome addictions. With God, illness is healed. With God, financial security is restored. With God, all things, large and small, are possible.
